In order for your ATV to function properly and perform safely out on trails or while you’re mudding, you need to keep it maintained. Fortunately, many ATV maintenance tasks can easily be performed at home in your garage if you have the right tools. But what are the tools you need? Here are some recommendations, courtesy of Interstate Cycles.

1. Multimeter

Need to figure out if there’s a problem with your vehicle’s electrical system? Use a multimeter to gauge voltage and amperage to determine whether you’re having any connectivity issues. Without it, you can’t diagnose issues that could be killing your battery.

2. Wrenches

You’re going to need a lot of different types of wrenches to fix your ATV, due to all the fasteners it has. A good-quality set of wrenches you would find at a hardware store will be a great start. Add a torque wrench that can give you extra power where you need it for stuck fasteners.

3. WD-40

This classic lubricant is pretty all-purpose and it will serve you well in making ATV repairs. Loosen up stuck fasteners or oil joints to get them moving again.
