A powersports vehicle like an all-terrain or utility terrain vehicle (ATV or UTV) is designed to be ridden over difficult terrain for professional or recreational off-roading. There are a number of different activities you can do with your powersports vehicle, though, and we’ve outlined a few of these below to give you some good ideas.

Dune Bashing

You’ll need to find yourself a set of sand dunes for this activity, which involves driving your powersports vehicle up and down over the dunes. Because the sand shifts under your vehicle, you don’t get as much traction, and the dunes can be quite steep, so this activity may require some more riding experience, along with special paddle tires for riding in sand.

Mudding

This classic powersports activity just involves cruising through muddy paths and puddles, which gets both you and your vehicle incredibly dirty. But the fun you’ll have makes it all worthwhile! To go mudding, you’ll want to find an area that offers muddy paths; this may be more difficult to find during drier parts of the year. You may also need to alter your vehicle to make it better-suited to mudding by equipping it with mud-friendly tires and a snorkel kit.

Rock Crawling

Another great powersports activity is to go riding over rocks and boulders. You’ll definitely want to use a lift kit to raise your powersports vehicle’s ground clearance to protect it from being damaged. Larger tires and bumpers will also help.
